The statement that narrower board automatically has less wetted area is problematic. If a board is narrower and the same wetted area shape it will sit lower in the water, increasing the wetted area until the same VOLUME ( mass of water) is attained. So which ever board it is will have to displace the mass of water equal to the weight of the paddler+board. If the below water shape is now less optimal the board could be slower. Hey Gregjet, Thanks for your comments. You are right what you are saying about wetted surface and board volume. I did touch a bit about that in the video about being a heavier rider. But I should of highlighted this more. Regarding the nose shot at 16mins, you have very good eyes. Im about an inc too far forward on the board you are right.
